Lisa Marie Presley is the only child of the King of rock ‘n’ roll Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley. The 52-year-old Lisa, who is the sole heiress to Elvis’ empire, made her own musical kingdom. The American singer and songwriter has released three studio albums in her career. However, similar to her father, she couldn’t get out of the tabloids spotlight.
Like many other stars, Lisa was a member of the Scientology Church. She was introduced to teachings of the Church by her mother, Priscilla, in 1977. While she was a member, Lisa received a special charity award for helping children with learning difficulties in the United States. She left Scientology in 2016, but her mother and daughter Riley are still members of the Church.
Lisa Presley has four children – daughter Riley Keough and son Benjamin Keough with her ex-husband Danny Keough and twins Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love, whose father is Lisa’s fourth husband, Michael Lockwood.
Inside all Lisa Marie Presley’s Marriages
Danny Keough and Lisa got married in 1988 and together have two children. The marriage lasted until 1994 when Lisa began dating the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Their relationship was more than interesting to the tabloids, especially after they got married the same year. The marriage of the King of pop and the daughter of the King of rock ‘n’ roll did not last long, and they divorced in 1996.
Lisa was persistent in defending her ex-husband after his death, telling the media that the two had been in a relationship several more times, but far from the public eye. There were numerous speculations about their relationship. Many have argued that marriage between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley served just to calm down the talks about child molestation Jackson was charged for at the time.
They separated due to irreconcilable differences, Lisa wrote. In The Oprah Winfrey Show, she said that their marriage was normal until the King of pop began to use more illegal substances.
Presley was alone for several years after Jackson, until in 2004, when she tied the knot with actor Nicolas Cage. The marriage also lasted only two years.
The singer wasted no time and married musician Michael Lockwood the same year. She had the longest marriage with him, and it lasted as long as ten years. They divorced in 2016 and ended up in court over the property Presley owns.
Lockwood said in court that he did not know what it meant when he signed a contract one year after the wedding in which it said that he had no right to ask Lisa for financial or any other support in case of divorce.
Her last conversation with Elvis
Elvis Presley died of a heart attack on August 16, 1977. He was found on the bathroom floor by his then-girlfriend Ginger Alden. Lisa Marie Presley was nine years old.
She spoke with her father for the last time early in the morning on the day he died. Elvis saw that Lisa was awake and came to tell her she needed to sleep. It was at 4 am. “He kissed me and left,” Lisa said, adding that this was the last time she’d seen him.
Lisa said in interviews that her memories of her father had changed over the years. She pointed out that over time it became increasingly clear to her what he had to deal with and what he needed to do during his career, but that wasn’t the case while he was still alive.
Today, Lisa’s mental state is bad due to liquor and opioid addiction, but she is “grateful to be alive.”
