One of the biggest stories of this decade in the NFL was, without a doubt, Aaron Hernandez’s rise to stardom and consequential fall into oblivion. The story about him is known to every football fan in the world. Now, it will reach those who are not all-in on this sport. It’s all thanks to Netflix, who will launch three-part docuseries on Hernandez. The premiere is expected in January.
The show will be titled “Killer Inside: The mind of Aaron Hernandez.” The first part will be available on this streaming platform on January 15th. The trailer is already out, and you can check it out below.
The show will follow Hernandez from his early beginnings and everything that led to him becoming NFL star. It will end with the story of his last days and all that led to him ending up in jail. A story about a man that had it all and threw it away is expected to attract viewers who aren’t fans of NFL.
The people behind this docuseries are Geno McDermott and Terry Leonard. After the success that Making a Murderer and Evil Genius had, the same is expected from this series.
For all of you who are not familiar with Aaron’s crimes, he was convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Before that conviction, he was charged for a double murder in 2012. These charges were dropped as he was found not guilty. Aaron Hernandez died in 2017 by suicide.
The exciting story of former New England Patriots’ tight end will now be immortalized by this Netflix documentary. The Netflix show will go deep in all events that led to this story, which is even today hard to explain. There was no such event in the history of this sport.
Netflix streaming platform has many popular shows with dark themes. Killer Inside: The mind of Aaron Hernandez fits the bill perfectly. Considering how popular Making a Murderer was, there is no reason that this new docuseries don’t follow the same path.
