Celebrity Power Couples Who Have Stood the Test of Time

Love and marriage in the world of celebrities most often do not last long, which in many cases, is due to huge public pressure. Still, some couples have managed to withstand all the problems and downsides of their celebrity lives, and to, after many years, stay together. Those couples are living proof that love can overcome everything.

These nine famous couples survived the test of time and overcame all the obstacles that were laid before them.

1) Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Chrissy and John met on the set for his 2006 video for the song “Stereo.” Immediately after filming, they went out to dinner, soon began dating, and stayed together until today. John proposed to Chrissy during a trip to the Maldives in 2011, and they got married on Lake Como, Italy, in September 2013. They have two children, Luna and Miles.

2) Beyonce and Jay-Z

Although they met when she was 18, Beyonce and Jay-Z started dating only a year and a half later. When they appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in November 2001, he admitted that they had just started dating. They married in secret ceremony at his Manhattan penthouse in April 2008 and have since welcomed three children, a daughter, Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir.

3) Michelle and Barack Obama

Barack and Michelle met in 1989 at the law firm “Sidley Austin LLP,” in which they both worked and in which she was his superior. A month later, he was able to persuade her to go on a date. He proposed her in 1991 during the dinner he took her to, and they were married in October 1992. They have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

4) Kate Middleton and Prince William

The two met in 2001 while studying at St. Andrews University, but only became a couple in 2003. They briefly broke up in 2007 to rekindle after a few months. William proposed to Kate in October 2010 while traveling in Kenya, and they were married in April 2011. The royal couple has three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

5) Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher

Ashton and Mila met on the set of the “That ’70s Show”, where they occasionally starred as a couple, but in real life, the romance began many years later, when Ashton divorced Demi Moore, and Mila broke up with Macaulay Culkin. They met again at the 2012 Golden Globes Awards, and a month after that, they kissed for the first time. Ashton and Mila got engaged in February 2014, and they said a “yes” in July 2015. They have two children, Dimitri and Wyatt.

6) Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

The movie “Green Lantern” in which the Ryan and Blake starred together did not achieve commercial success, but at least managed to bring the two closer together. They met on the set in 2010, and by the end of the year, Blake Lively had broken up with Penn Badgley, and Ryan had filed for divorce from Scarlett Johansson. After a month of rumors, in October 2011, the two confirmed that they are in a relationship, and they got married far from the public eye in September 2012. They have three children – James, Inez, and a third child whose name has not yet been revealed.

7) Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith

Jada and Will met in 1994 when she auditioned to get the role of Will’s girlfriend in the sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Will immediately liked Jada even though she did not pass the audition. They had been together for three years before he proposed to her in November 1997, and just a month later, on New Year’s Eve, they said a “yes” to each other. They have two children, Jaden and Willow, and Will has a son, Trey, from their first marriage.

8) Victoria and David Beckham

David and Victoria met at a charity football match in Manchester, where future Mrs. Beckham drank a bit too much. A year later, in January 1998, during a press conference, they announced that they were engaged and they got married in July 1999. They have four children: sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and daughter Harper.

9) Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake

Justin and Jessica met in early 2007 at a party she attended, which the singer organized for his friend. Justin got her number from a friend, and in May 2007, they announced they were dating. The two briefly split in 2011, but he proposed to her in December of that year during a trip to Montana. They got married in Italy in October 2012 and have a son, Silas.
