Trump Not Holding Back: He Once Called Pope Francis ‘Disgraceful’

EXPRESS – 01/29/2020: There isn’t a person in this world that is safe from Donald Trump’s critiques. Because of his personality, Donald Trump even managed to enter a war of words with Pope Francis. Since Trump became the 45th President of the US, he had a couple of exchanges with the Vatican leader. On one occasion, POTUS even called the Pope’ disgraceful.’

One of the biggest promises Trump made during his campaign was that he is going to build a wall between the US and Mexico. Donald’s stance on immigration is well documented. He even claimed that Mexicans are going to pay for the construction of this wall. Because of harsh words like these, he got a backlash from Democrats. While this was expected, he probably didn’t saw critic coming from the Vatican. Pope Francis was quite vocal in criticizing Trump’s Presidency.

Pope believes that all countries should accept immigrants and refugees when they come from countries hit by wars or natural catastrophes. Because of Trump’s decision to start the immigrant war with Mexico and to put a ban on Muslim immigrants, the Vatican leader called him ‘non-Christian.’

The Vatican leader stated that a person who is willing to build walls and separate people instead of building bridges is not Christian. Trump didn’t remain silent on a comment on this. POTUS responded by saying that a person who questions others faith is disgraceful.

President Trump continued by saying that the Pope should instead pray for his Presidency to continue. The United States President concluded that in a case of ISIS terrorist attack on the Vatican, which according to Trump, is their agenda, Pope would be wise to pray and hope that at that moment, Donald Trump is the President.

According to sources close to the Vatican, Pope Francis will monitor the upcoming elections in the US. Many believe that the Catholic church will support the Democrat candidate in their communities.
