Non-starchy vegetables include spinach and other dark green leafy vegetables, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc … While mealtime, fill half of your plate with non-starchy vegetables. It is an easy way to eat healthier. These vegetables are low in calories, but full of nutrients, fibers and water. If you replace starch and protein in your meal with non-starchy vegetables, you can still eat the same amount of food – but with fewer calories.
