Washington Capitals were the current champions, and they were leading the game with 2-0 with the goals from Burakovsky and Wilson. The score was changed when Aho scored a goal, but it was changed again to 3-1 when Kuznetsov scored a goal.
Teräväinen managed to score another goal for Carolina Hurricanes and just three minutes before the end Staal managed to secure the overtime.

Carolina Hurricanes were much better than Washington Capitals, and they’ve managed to win the game in the second overtime with the goal from Brock McGinn.
