According to the media, Richard Gere will become a father for the third time at 71. This news surprised the public, since he and his wife, Alejandra Silva, welcomed their first child together, Alexander, nine months ago. The couple started off their relationship while Gere was still married to Carey Lowell. Soon, the famous actor left his wife, and got married to Alejandra, who is the daughter of Ignacio Silva, the former Vice President of Real Madrid Football Club.
The couple got married on April 2018, and 5 months later, the 35-year-old Silva announced the pregnancy via her Instagram account. She shared a photo of her and Dalai Lama, who is touching her bump and giving his blessing.
Besides their son, Alexander, both Gere and Silva have children from previous marriages. In that sense, Gere has a 19-year-old son, Homer James Gere, whereas Alejandra has a 6-year-old Albert from her marriage to ex-husband, Govind Friedland.
The couple hasn’t confirmed the rumors about the pregnancy yet. When he became a father for the second time, Gere gave an interview for the magazine Hola! stating “I’m the happiest man in the universe. How could I not be? I’m married to a beautiful woman who is smart, sensitive, committed to helping people, and she is a great mother.”
