Disney’s The Lion King will roar into UK cinemas in July 2019. Jon Favreau’s all-new ‘The Lion King’ will have a proper and a long-awaited summer release. Recently, a TV spot for the project was released which introduced Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.

Beyoncé, one of the biggest stars in the world, is also the biggest star to be linked to this movie. We will see and hear her as the grown-up version of Nala, Simba’s childhood friend and true love. Everyone who has seen the 1994 animated various probably remembers her as the one who encourages Simba to take his place as the rightful king. Hence, Beyoncé is definitely an excellent fit for the role and she sounds breathtaking.

This upcoming remake comes after a number of recent Disney remakes, including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo and The Jungle Book. The new Lion King is all computer-animated feature and there aren’t any actual animals or real-life scenery.

Alongside Beyoncé, the new Lion King features an outstanding voice cast. So, Donald Glover will be the voice of Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor will appear as Scar, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Eric Andre as Azizi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, and Florence Kasumba as Shenzi.

The only actor who will reprise its role from the original movie is James Earl Jones as Mufasa. Moreover, Amy Sedaris also joined the cast as the voice of a new character. The computer-animated feature is directed by Jon Favreau, while the music was written by Hans Zimmer.
