Tom Brady Net Worth in 2024 – Early life, Career and Businesse

by Elsa Stringer

Tom Brady is someone whose name is not only unanimous with fame and fortune in the NFL circles, but outside of them too. Every fan of the NFL knows his story and how he came to fruition, but nonetheless, it should be told.

He was drafted only at pick 199 in the 6th round but as everyone now knows he ended up becoming the best quarterback the NFL has ever seen, winning 6 Super Bowls and being the MVP in 4 of those.

Early life

The quarterback superstar was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California. His parents are called Galynn and Thomas Brady Sr. and he became a huge fan of the NFL because of his father who was a big 49er fan. At the time Brady was preparing for college the rank of football players was not that important and in order to get into a good D1 college as far as college goes he made highlight tapes of his plays in games. It ended going his way and a lot of D1 colleges were interested him and thought him to be a four-star recruit.

But the NFL was not the only league on the lookout for Brady, the MLB also sent scouts to see what Brady was like. He was selected by the Montreal Expos in the 1995 draft but he ultimately decided to go to the NFL since that was what he really wanted.

He enrolled in the University of Michigan and even though the beginning was full of ups and downs, once he started playing starter minutes, he broke all kinds of records and went into the University of Michigan history.

Career

After his college football stint, he, of course, decided to try out in the NFL, but he wasn’t really seen as some amazing football athlete at the time and was selected at pick 199 of the 2000 NFL draft by the New England Patriot and has been too loyal to them ever since. Together with the team, he has won a whopping six Super Bowls out of nine.

In 2016, for the first time in his career, he got suspended for four games because of what we now know as the Deflategate scandal. After his name was cleared, he came back even better and became the leader everyone needed him to be in order to win the Super Bowl that season.

The very suspension that was a bit of a controversy at the time didn’t really affect how much money he makes, you could even say that it helped him out in the long run. In 2016 he ranked at number 54 on Forbes’ highest-paid athletes in the world. In 2010 he became the highest-paid NFL player because he signed a four-year $72 million contract.

But since the New England Patriot wanted to keep him by any means just 3 years after that he signed a contract extension with the same team that would make him another $27 million.

Of course, just like in 2013 the New England Patriot wanted to keep doing business with Tom Brady so he signed another contract extension in 2016 and another one in 2019 which means he will play until the year 2024 and until his he 44 years old, and he will make $70 million in just two years.

Now when you compare him to other superstar NFL quarterbacks like Eli Manning and Matt Ryan his deals don’t seem that expensive but that is mostly because he prefers winning over getting the most money he can out of deals. He takes pay cuts in order to enable the team to get better players in other positions, which can be considered pretty noble of him. But even though other players have made more NFL money, his endorsements definitely bring in the most out of all them.

His Brand and Businesses

Just like other incredibly famous athletes he has also had many endorsements throughout his career. He has had deals with brands like Foot Locker, Aston Martin, Under Armor, Tag Heuer, Movado, Sam Adams, Uggs and Glaceau Smartwater.

It is thought that in 2019 just from those endorsements he has made around $12 million and his own brand called TB12 adds even more to that, a fact which was proven by Forbes. Another thing that makes Brady and his family distinct is that they are all vegetarian and that they like to promote that lifestyle. He uses his TB12 brand to release vegan cookbooks, vegan snacks and other similar things.
