BUSINESS INSIDER – 01/11/2020: Donald Trump is one of the most influential people in the world. The average person would believe that he doesn’t have much free time on his hands. They would be wrong. President Trump has so much time on his hands that he spent some on thinking about a new name for NATO.

In one of his recent interviews, Mr. Trump told the reporters that the military alliance should be called NATOME. POTUS believes that NATO should pay more attention to the Middle East. If they did that, a new name would be in place said the President.

Trump stated that he discussed the idea with NATO’s chief Jens Stoltenberg and that he was thrilled with the idea. President’s logic is that if NATO gets more involved with the situation in Iran, they should take a new name. According to Trump, you already have NATO, and by adding ME, which stands for the Middle East, you will get NATOME.

President Trump used this media addressing to explain his idea, stating that the name is beautiful and that he didn’t have any issues coming up with it as he’s good with names.

Jokes aside, Trump did call for the alliance to take more action in the Middle East. The coalition has 29 members, the US being one of them. The situation in the Middle East escalated after killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

Donald Trump himself authorized this action. Killing Soleimani sparked military reactions from Iran. NATO nations and other US allies did not approve of the action, and now there’s tension between them and the US.

EU leaders still try to save Iran nuclear deal. It is the same deal Trump withdraw the US from, which was the start of a division between Iran, the US, and their allies. Now, that Trump ordered attacks on Iranian general Soleimani, Iran no longer feels obliged to honor any part of the deal.
