Modern medicine is pretty amazing. Some diseases that used to run rampant are now all but eradicated. People are living longer, and having full lives well into their 80’s and beyond! It seems that for almost any ailment, there’s a pill or procedure to have it remedied. That being said, there are still some problems in our lives that only having faith can solve. Here are the 5 problems that modern medicine can’t solve but your faith can.

Number 1: Loneliness

As much as we may wish it, there is no prescription panacea to overcome that awful feeling of being alone. It can be overwhelming to feel like you don’t belong to anything bigger than yourself. Wouldn’t it be great if you could take a pill and magically have more friends and a sense of belonging? Well, you can’t…but faith CAN provide both of those things. Whatever your beliefs are, getting together with others that share your faith is a powerful way to overcome loneliness.

Number 2: Death

It may sound morbid, but death is an inevitable part of life. No matter how healthy and fit you are, the truth is that someday (hopefully a long long time from now) you, I and everyone else, will eventually pass away. It is a wretched thing to dwell on. However, this is another problem that faith can solve. Now, I’m not saying faith can prevent death, but it can make it easier to accept. The idea that you and your loved ones will be rejoined in the afterlife is a pleasant notion that can help in very difficult times.

Number 3: Feeling Hopeless

It is really easy to become overwhelmed today. Between personal and professional obligations there’s probably a dozen things that need to get done at any given time. You may feel crushed by the weight of it sometimes, and it can be very difficult to shake that feeling. Sure, there are anxiety medications that you can take, but they treat symptoms, they don’t take away the source of the problem. The only permanent solution to that feeling is faith. Faith that you’ll have the strength to carry on, and that everything will work out the way it is supposed to.

Number 4: Sense of Purpose

Sadly, many people aimlessly drift through life without a clear path or goal. They might have a good career or a family, but they may still lack a sense of purpose. Modern medicine can keep you physically fit, and go a long way to aiding your mental health, but it cannot give you a sense of fulfillment. Having strong faith empowers you with the knowledge that you are here for a reason, and that your life has meaning.

Number 5: Inner Peace

There are some things in life that we have to deal with that are unpleasant. We will all endure some hardships that we simply cannot do anything about. It’s a brutal fact about being human. Inner peace isn’t something your primary care provider can give you. That kind of peace and surreal calm only come with strong faith and feeling secure in the knowledge that some things are simply out of your control, but there is a plan.

According to BeinHealth, modern medicine is a wonderful thing, and it can do a lot to improve our quality of life, but it has its limitations. There are still some problems that only strong faith can help you overcome.
