The ideal horse riding equipment

by Sinke Car

Horse riding is undoubtedly an exciting exercise. Adventure lovers and farm owners in the UK have this habit of enjoying a leisurely horseback riding session during lazy summer evenings. It provides the rider with an excellent way of embracing and admiring nature. Some spend hours while roaming around in the English countryside. It is something that pleases not only your body but your soul as well.

Experienced riders are well aware of the precautions that need to be taken before hitting the saddle. If you are a first-time rider, then get in touch with some of your experienced mates. They will tell you that wearing adequate horse riding equipment is a must before you hit the saddle in order to enjoy a leisurely evening horse ride.

The head comes first

The first and foremost thing that comes to mind when one thinks of horse riding equipment is a helmet. Such helmets are not only used to protect the head from injuries, but they also keep the head warm during winter. It is always a good idea to buy a couple of riding hats and helmets. Doing so will ensure that you not be caught off-guard in case one of the helmets breaks down unexpectedly. In all fairness, a good helmet is something that stands between you and a serious head injury. Riding hats and helmets come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, but the prime objective of a helmet remains pretty much the same, i.e. providing the rider’s head with complete protection against injuries. You can buy helmets for yourself at Church Equestrian.

Coats and jackets come next

Just like caps and helmets, coats and jackets to come in a wide range of sizes. The type of coat and/or jacket you want comes down to your personal choice and preference, but you need to keep a few things in mind before you plan to buy a riding coat or jacket.

Make sure that arm movement is smooth

While buying a riding coat, make sure that it is not too tight as a tight coat would make arm and shoulder movement extremely difficult. It is always a good idea to buy riding equipment from a reliable vendor. Also, you can look for equestrian shops that provide easy return replacements, and refunds. Furthermore, going for the cheapest option is never a good idea. Those who go for cheaper options often end up spending way more than expected because a substandard piece of equipment is never going to go the distance. Make sure you choose wisely.  You can pair a riding coat or jacket with denim. Denim can be worn while riding as these are comfortable and considerably thick. Just make sure that the denim isn’t too tight.

Footwear

Jodhpurs are preferred by riders across the globe. Traditionalists tend to go for boots made of leather whereas new-age riders go after boots made using synthetic materials. While choosing footwear, make sure that the size of the boot is appropriate. If the boot is too tight, then it is bound to lead to discomfort. On the other hand, if the boot is too loose, then it won’t fit properly. Many of the riders go for zippered boots as they are easy to wear and remove. Also, wear a pair of light socks. Wearing heavy socks can lead to sweat and discomfort.

So, before you go horse riding, make sure that all of your equipment is in place. All of these will go a long way in protecting you from unexpected injuries.
